Small Business Cloud Migration
A prominent West Virginia law firm was debating the transition from an on-premises case management system to a cloud hosted system. The current system was hosted on two Windows servers. The server that hosted the case management software was old and out dated. The old server also ran a unsupported, legacy version of Microsoft Exchange on premises as their e-mail system.
With digitalSunrise's guidance, the firm decided to implement Microsoft Office 365 with hosted Exchange for email. This solution integrated well with the new hosted case management software. It reduced heating, cooling, hardware, electrical, noise and space costs associated with an on premises solution.
By leveraging an existing Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Services (RDS) session host, digitalSunrise was able to migrate their existing "thin client" infrastructure to new Hewlett Packard Incorporated desktop systems and hosted Exchange with no downtime or interruption to service. When the migration was complete, the RDS server was redeployed for use as an Microsoft Active Directory domain controller performing DNS, DHCP, file, and print services.
